Better Late Than Never

Thanks to some well placed tweets, we've just discovered two new opportunities to get our fic fix!

The first one is Eric and Sookie's Fic Exchange. Hosted by makesmyheadspin and MissyDee, this is a Halloween fic exchange. I'm so sorry we've discovered this little gem too late to recruit writers, but the good news we can all enjoy the four fics posted on their profile. Check them out and give those writers some review love!

The second one is a new Monthly SVM Challenge hosted by Maria Chiquita. She's renamed it Sookie's SMUThouse Challenge and this months's prompt is sex education. Check out the thread over on The Sookieverse Forum on fanfiction.net and join in the fun!

Sookie's Secret Santa

Have you always wished you could give Eric as a special Christmas present? Well, you can't. But now you can do the next best thing! Write a fic and bring Christmas joy to a fellow fanfic writer (and the rest of us).

Thanks to the ever resourceful blakes boogie and Jan of Arc, our little community now has a Secret Santa exchange! It's called Sookie's Secret Santa! Just put your name in the hat by November 6th by writing to sookies.secret.santa@gmail.com. You'll get another writer's name and her preferences and write her a special one shot by December 18th.

The stories will be posted on the Sookie's Secret Santa profile and in each summary, you'll see for whom the fic was written. Then, on December 26th, all the Secret Santas will be revealed (and you can post your fic to your own profile).

You'll get a fic written just for you, and this is the closest you'll ever get to giving another fanfic writer what she really wants--Eric. (Okay, okay, some might want Bill or Alcide or Sam, but you get the picture.)

The word on twitter is there is already a big pile of writers with their names in the hat, so come and join in the fun!

Further note ...
Looks like recaps of TRUE BLOOD WILL continue next season. We have lined up a bunch of steely individuals who will do one or two in the series next year. We need about three more brave souls to step up to the plate. Please let us know if you'd be willing. The recaps do not have to follow my approach. Lots of blog sites are doing them very differently. So if you think you have the guts for it, write us. I have agreed to do a few this next year but spaced out so the work doesn't do me in.

This is nycsnowbird ...
